When your child is suffering with their Mental Health it can be an extremely difficult and worrying time. You may feel isolated and lonely, you may feel scared and worried for their future or you may even blame yourself.
It is important that you look after yourself during this time and this is where counselling can help. Talking to someone free of judgement but also someone who understands what it is like can really help.
It's hard enough being a parent when things are going well, but when things are out of our control we can feel helpless or as if we have failed in some way. We can assure you these are normal feelings and reactions to a very difficult situation.
We can assure you, this is not the case and you have not failed your child. If you are visiting our site then you are definitely doing all you can!
If my child is receiving counselling at Swann Counselling will we see the same counsellor?
No, you would see a different counsellor from your child.
If my child is receiving counselling or support elsewhere can I still come to Swann Counselling? Yes, of course.
Do you offer Family Counselling?
No, we currently only offer individual counselling. However, we always encourage an open dialog within families and if we can assist in anyway and with consent we will.
Please feel free to get in touch and see how we can support you. It may be that you only need a couple of sessions, ongoing weekly appointments or once a month, no matter what you need we are here to help.
